**Effective Date:** June 10, 2026
**Last Updated:** June 10, 2026
Mindful Learning Co. ("Mindful Learning Co.," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through our website at mindfullearningco.com (the "Site") and in the course of providing our tutoring and academic coaching services, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices you have. By using the Site or our services, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.
If you have questions about this Policy, contact us at admin@mindfullearningco.com.
Who We Are
Mindful Learning Co. is a sole proprietorship based in the greater Los Angeles, California area that provides subject tutoring, academic coaching, test preparation, small-group tutoring, and parent/guardian support to students of all ages. We offer in-person services within the greater Los Angeles area and remote services to students in other states.
Information We Collect
**Information you give us.**
When you submit our inquiry form, schedule an introductory call, or otherwise contact us, we collect the information you choose to provide. Our inquiry form asks for:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- The student's ("child's") name and grade level
- The type of service you are inquiring about
- Any additional message you choose to share, and how you heard about us
If you become a client, we also collect the information needed to deliver and document our services and to administer our agreement with you — for example, scheduling details, billing and contact information, session notes, and progress summaries.
Payment information
Payments are processed by a third-party payment processor. Your payment card or bank account details are entered with and handled by that processor; we do not store full payment card or bank account numbers ourselves beyond what the processor retains to complete a transaction.
Information collected automatically
Our Site is built and hosted on the Wix platform. Wix and the tools it provides may automatically collect certain technical information when you visit the Site, such as your device and browser type, IP address, pages viewed, and similar usage data, and may set cookies or use similar technologies. You can read more about how Wix handles this data in the Wix Privacy Policy at https://www.wix.com/about/privacy. You can usually control or disable cookies through your browser settings, though some features of the Site may not function properly without them.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Respond to your inquiry and schedule introductory calls and sessions
- Provide, personalize, and improve our tutoring and coaching services
- Communicate with you about scheduling, progress, billing, and our services
- Process payments and maintain records of our engagement
- Maintain the security and proper functioning of the Site
- Comply with our legal obligations and enforce our agreements
We do **not** sell your personal information or that of your student.
Phone Calls and Text Messages
We use the phone number you provide to communicate with you by phone call and text message (SMS) about your inquiry, scheduling, sessions, progress, and billing. By providing your phone number, you consent to receiving these service-related calls and texts from us. These messages are transactional, not marketing, and message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of text messages at any time by replying STOP, or by telling us you prefer another method of contact; opting out of texts will not affect your ability to receive our services, and we will reach you another way.
Children's Privacy
We provide services to students of all ages, including minors, and we take the privacy of children seriously. Our Site and inquiry form are directed to parents and guardians, not to children, and we ask that information about a minor student be submitted by a parent or guardian. We collect only the information about a student that is reasonably necessary to provide our services (such as the student's name, grade level, and progress notes).
We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the Site without parental involvement. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information without a parent or guardian's knowledge, please contact us at admin@mindfullearningco.com and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
How We Share Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- **Service providers.** With vendors who help us operate, such as our website host (Wix), payment processor, and scheduling or email tools, who may process information on our behalf to provide their services.
- **Legal and safety reasons.** When required by law, in response to a valid legal request, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Mindful Learning Co., our clients, students, or others. As noted in our client agreement, we may be required by California law to report suspected child abuse or neglect, or a credible threat of serious harm, to the appropriate authorities.
- **With your consent.** In any other case, with your direction or consent.
Data Retention and Security
We keep personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, to provide our services, and to meet legal, tax, and recordkeeping requirements. We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards appropriate to the size of our practice and the sensitivity of the information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. We will notify affected individuals of a data breach as required by applicable law.
Upon written request, and within a reasonable time, we will delete student or client records that we are not otherwise required by law to retain.
Your Choices and Rights
You may:
- **Access and correct** the information we hold about you or your student by emailing us.
- **Request deletion** of records we are not legally required to keep.
- **Opt out of marketing** emails at any time by replying to ask us to stop or using any unsubscribe link; we may still send you non-promotional messages about active services.
- **Opt out of text messages** at any time by replying STOP or telling us you prefer another method of contact.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under your state's privacy laws. Because we provide remote services to students in other states, residents of states with applicable consumer privacy laws — including California (the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended) — may have rights to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, to request correction or deletion, and to exercise these rights without unlawful discrimination. To the extent these laws apply to us, you may make a request by emailing admin@mindfullearningco.com. We will verify your request as required and respond within the time required by law. A parent or guardian may exercise these rights on behalf of a minor student.
Third-Party Links
The Site may link to third-party websites or services that we do not control. This Policy does not apply to those sites, and we encourage you to review their privacy policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date above and post the new version on this page. Significant changes may be communicated to active clients directly. Your continued use of the Site or our services after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
